From June to mid-July 2024, Podium has hosted six Oslo based artists who have used the gallery as their studios. The time spent in-residency has resulted in works that were unveiled in a group exhibition at BO – The Association of Visual Artists Oslo.
The exhibition was curated and produced by curator and artist Hedda Grevle Ottesen, the initiator of Oslo City and Co-curator of Podium, and artist and curator Lina Knudsen, curator of the artist run boat Gallery Gayah.
The six artists Kim Jakobsen Tô, Louise Evensen Herreira, Samuel Feste, Stella Vallik, Stan D’Haene, and Nelly Riverlou were selected by the curators through an Open Call, to receive a two months residency followed by exhibitions at the artist run boat Gallery Gayah, and an exhibition at BO.
ABOUT OSLO CITY
Oslo City is by and for Oslo. It embraces interdisciplinary, relational and interactive art projects. The basic idea is to give the general public an insight into what political thoughts and ideas that engage the young art scene in Oslo, and to create collaborations within different micro scenes.
Widely different expressions and thematic focus set the framework for each individual event, and the projects are carried out by inviting external curators, both established and newly established. Oslo City has since 2020 been held in 13 editions at BO, UKS and Podium.
